By the next day, he was dead.

Not sure what killed it so fast, but its not the first time I've seen insects die off fast in Leucophylla. It's possible the wasp was killed off by the same molecule that killed Socrates, Coniine. Coniine is a neurotoxin found in Hemlock and a number of Sarracenia pitcher plants, including S. Leucophylla. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5319649/

The wasp is molding rapidly

This wasp was the largest thing to fall into this trap in a while. The only thing in the trap recently, was a piece of another plant that blew into the trap on a windy day a few weeks ago (March 30). I was going to try to tweezer it out, but it seems that the blobs are working on the foreign plant, so I left it there
