Two ants are fighting deep in a S. Leucophylla pitcher, at around 2 minutes. It looks like the black ant is trying to sting the red ant.
Unfortunately, their fighting made them both fall into the pit. Oops.
I am not sure why S. Luecophylla has so many mites, but they are everywhere. They are all around the lip of the the pitcher, they are on the inner walls in huge numbers and they are in the pitcher bottom eating dead ants. (Unfortunately, the pencam can't get to the bottom of this pitcher. It is too narrow.
