Still looking for the Pitcher Plant Mosquito in the first opened Sarracenia BugBat pitcher, but I keep finding ants, flies and now wasps. I was hoping to look for the mosquito’s larva (wyeomyia smithii) in the pitcher but it's catching too much stuff to see the pitcher liquid. This video begins with a big fly on the inside of the pitcher. Bugbat captures a lot of flies. Deeper into the pitcher are the usual assortment of ants and mites, then a giant wasp appears. Not sure when he got here, but he does not look happy!

The wasp is still alive, but he looks a little worn down. I can't tell if it's abdomen is in the pitcher liquid. If it it, it is probably under attack by mites and the elusive mosquito larva.
