The first S. Judith Hindle pitcher opened and the mites are already colonizing the pitcher. They are deep in Zone 3 of the pitcher (around 4:30) I didn't spot any mites around the lip of the pitcher, but they are easy to miss.
Something, possibly an ant, can be seen deep in the pitcher. (I used a little backlighting from a flashlight). Unfortunately, that is too deep for the pencam. The pitcher narrows smaller than the 7mm diameter of the pencam.
