First in S. Bugbat

Updated: Apr 24, 2019

This was my first attempt at filming inside S. Bugbat. It has a hood covering the pitcher entrance, so I was afraid, the Pencam might damage the plant. I figured it is only 7mm, what harm can it do. It turns out that if you fold down the hood's edge, the Pencam fits in without too much trouble.

You can see a ton of ants trying and failing to get out of Zone 3. Zone 2 is just too slippery for them.

Eventually, repeated Pencam use damages the pitcher over time. The initial folded leaf tears a little with each filming. So by March 2019, the top of the hood looks pretty ragged. (Although I.m not sure what it would have looked like if it hadn't been filmed) This doesn't seem to prevent the trap from trapping new prey or the digestive zone from eating is meal.
