Attack of the Blobs, Fly Eaten in Judith Hindle

Updated: Apr 24, 2019

Meanwhile in a different Judith Hindle leaf (but the same plant).

This takes place Nov. 2018. (Further north, Sarracenia are hibernating during the winter. In Texas, the pitchers are open for business. They are capturing prey and their digestive "helpers" or the blobs are eating whatever falls inside.)

The first video is on Nov 2. The fly has died and is floating on the surface

By Nov 6, the fly is submerged and is being eaten by an army of "blobs" You can see an ant running around above the water level. The fly has lost its coloration and is the ghostly image in the center of the pictures.

A little less shaky video same day, same pitcher
