No discussion about carnivorous plants would be complete without the Venus Flytrap. (VFT). Everyone from Darwin to 5 year olds love the VFT. The Pencam got some decent pics of the trigger hairs. Watch out bugs! Hit the triggers a few times and chomp, your trapped.
This is my first try at filming this. I had captured a moth with the bug vacuum. It was still alive when I tweezered it into the trap. A strange thing happened after the trap closed. If you look carefully at the tail end of the moth, it appears something is coming out. Either it's giving birth or some parasite is escaping it's dying host.
Either way, it's creepy.
